Taking a bath with fluffiness

After returning to the prefab, we put the little animal we rescued from the forest to sleep.
That aside, we’re far too dirty to be taking care of someone sick… For the time being, let’s check if we can draw some water.

”Alright, the water’s coming out fine now.”
 ”Unyu~♪”

 Alright, no problems there.
The water is being drawn from the river via a pipe, so the prefab now has a water supply available.
There’s no problems with the sewerage either.
By the way, the sewage is discharged from a pipe into the river, which leads to the sea.
The sewage also gets cleaned by a filtration system installed in the prefab before it’s discharged, so it’s environmentally friendly.
After everyone had washed their hands, the moles decided to roast some of the medicinal herbs they’d brought with them.
Since Uni was good at this kind of thing, he made a bowl with earth magic to grind the medicinal herbs, successfully making medicine from the herbs.
We then administered the medicine to the small animal.
At first, it seemed to be in a lot of pain, but its breathing gradually calmed down, and it slept while breathing softly.

”Good, seems like it’ll be fine now.”
 ”Unyo~”
 ”Mogu~”
 ”Mogugu~”
 ”Mogyu”
 ”Mogu mogu!”
 ”Mogguu~”

Uni and the moles are glad that the small animal is safe.
Now, I have washed my hands, but looking at them again, I can see a lot of grime from the civil engineering work.
So I headed to the bathroom and filled the bathtub with water.
After that, I operated a panel and changed it to hot water.

”Now we can take a bath.”
 ”Unii~”

 ”””””Mogu~♪”””””

I decided to take a bath with Uni and the moles.
They checked the water’s temperature in the shower, then washed each other’s bodies with the liquid soap provided.
Uni and the moles’ fur felt great, but it would have been difficult to get rid of the dirt with normal soap.
But with this soap, it’s not a problem.
We still have some in stock, but we will eventually run out.
I wish I could find materials for soap here on the island.

 ”Unyu~”
 ”””””Mogguu~”””””

Everyone seemed happy soaking in the bathtub.
It seemed like it was the first time the moles had a bath, but they seemed to be overcome with joy.
Then after everyone was feeling refreshed, we got out of the bath.

 ”Everyone looks really clean.”
 ”Uni~”
 ”””””Mogu mogu~”””””

After wiping Uni and the moles’ bodies with bath towels, I threw the towels and the clothes I’d been wearing into the magic washing machine and operated it from the panel.
The washing then began spinning.
This’ll clean off even the most persistent dirt.
But seriously, it’s good that I was able to draw water.
If I wanted to, I could have even laid a magic conduit afterwards.
Well, we’re the only ones living in the prefab, so I don’t think we’ll go so far as to run out of magic power.
A magic conduit is a pipe for transmitting magic power.
The royal capital and major towns mostly use magic conduits to transmit magic power to each household.
This way, their magic equipment works without any problems.
Mana alone isn’t suitable for operating ordinary magic tools, and so it’s necessary to be converted into magic power.
Mana is fine for producing simple energy, and the power from using mana is also strong.
However, mana can’t directly induce phenomena.
Therefore, in order to operate a magic tool, it would need to convert it into magic power in order to develop their techniques.
Either way, mana is needed to generate magic power.
But if you just take in natural mana, the conversion efficiency would be bad, and the capacity will be insufficient for running a lot of magic equipment.
The solution is to find a mana pool, build a magic generator there, convert the mana there to magic power, and then transmit it through a magic conduit.
The kingdom was able to benefit from so much magic equipment thanks to these magic conduits.

 ”Speaking of which…”

I suddenly remembered my master told me that in the country, regarding the magic generator and the magic conduits, only the king was allowed to know of their existence, in order to prevent them being used for bad things.
But the previous king’s unnatural death was so sudden that it’s a mystery as to whether it was properly passed on.
If they didn’t manage to… no, that’s unlikely.
The current king must’ve been properly informed.
Either way, it’s not my problem anymore.

 ”Now, let’s get cooking.”
 ”Uni uni♪”
 ”””””Moguu~”””””

When they heard me talk of food, they rocked themselves in happiness.
Uni is a fairy, but he loves human food.
And judging based on the meals we had at about noon, the moles also seem to have the same tastes.

”Then, let’s make steaks from that plesiosaurus meat.”
 ”Unyu~”
 ”Mogyu~”
 ”Mogu~”
 ”Mogugu~”
 ”Mogu mogu!”
 ”Mo~gu~”

Uni and the moles hugged my legs tightly and made cute noises.
They seem really glad.
Now, I do care about them, but I’m also worried about that small animal.
When I went to see it, it was sleeping peacefully.
I touched it and found that its fever had gone down considerably.
Will it be fine now?

”Rest properly so you get better, ok?”

I left the room mumbling something like that.
And then after the meal, we all went to sleep…

At the same time, in the royal capital, Dowal, together with Zamasu, was looking at the old royal stadium and discussing the demolition work arrangements with the Abane Group’s boss.

”You sure you want to demolish this stadium?”

The Abane Group’s boss tries to get confirmation while looking at the stone stadium.
The stadium had been there for a long time, yet it impressively still stood and had a strong presence.
However, Zamasu looked at it with knit eyebrows and replied.

”This old-style, antique stadium doesn’t suit the sense of this Me~, zamasu.
Demolish it immediately, zamasu.”
 ”That’s right.
You should obediently follow what Zamasu the architect says.”

Nodding his head, Dowal ordered the Abane Group as well.
The boss scratched his head, while going “yare yare”, then replied.

 ”Well, if you say so.
But, the new stadium is made of wood?”

Looking over the blueprints spread across the ground, the boss asked a question.
Since something this large made of wood would be impossible.

”Yeah, so the elves will be very pleased.
That’s why, kuku”

Dowal laughed in a way which showed hidden meaning in some way.
THe sharp-eyed boss noticed it.

”Oh? Your face looks like you’re up to something?”

The Abane Group’s boss seems to have read something from Dowal’s expression.

 ”It’s not some big deal.
Actually, the king is trying to brin gback the slavery system to this country.
It’s the perfect chance, making use of the Grand Festival of Sorcery.”
”He’s such a skilled person, zamasu.
As soon as he knew the new stadium could be made out of wood and put the elves in a good mood, he changed direction to that kind of hand.”
 ”What do you mean?”

The boss tilted his head at the two’s conversation.

 ”Elves like natural things.
If the stadium is made of wood, it will win the trust of the elves.
Then, if any elves go missing during the festival, they won’t think it was our country that did it.
Kuku, of, course, I intend to secretly sell some of them.”
 ”So that’s what you mean.
You’re evil too.”

The boss pulls back his chin as if to say “I get it”.

 ”But will that work?”

However, he was doubtful that it would work out the way they thought it would.
But then Dowal folded his arms with a confident expression.

 ”Not a problem.
In the first place, our predecessors were too good-natured for denying slavery till now.
But conversely, that’s why other countries trust us, and this new wooden stadium.
There’s nothing to be suspicious of.”

The edges of Dowal’s mouth twisted into a grin.
Slaves were once used in this country, but once the effects of magic architecture made it unnecessary to need the help of slaves, and after the king, who was a human rights activist at the time, decided to abolish slavery, all slave trading was banned in this country.
However, the new king was thinking of annulling the abolition of slavery.
This new king didn’t seem to like whatever his predecessor’s way of doing things was.
The previous king put the people’s livelihood and the development of the country first, but this king is all about raising his authority and running the country as he wishes.
Wirk’s exile was part of the rejection of the previous king’s ways.
As well as the restoration of the slavery system.
And this coincided with Dowal’s thoughts, who is loyal to his desires and only thinks about indulging in his interests…
