onsequences once I’ve recovered.”

Ye Yuwei made a face at him and opened up the food container that Butler Kim had delivered a few moments ago.

Wen Jie was watching the news.
Her hands which were resting on her knees balled into fists.

Ye Xicheng was looking after his little sister but his sharp eyes spotted his grandmother’s unusual behaviour.
He turned and ran to her, putting his tiny hands on Wen Jie’s trembling ones.
“Grandma, what happened to you?”

Wen Jie’s breathing hitched and she looked at her precious little Xicheng.
He looked so concerned that she had to pull herself together.
“I’m fine,” Wen Jie reassured him, reaching out to caress Ye Xicheng’s cheek.

As if Ye Xicheng was not convinced, he stood on his toes and touched his grandmother’s forehead.
He seemed to relax after confirming that she did not have a fever.
“If Grandma isn’t feeling well, you have to tell me! Daddy and Mommy aren’t at home but Xicheng can take care of Grandma,” Ye Xicheng said firmly, as though he was already an adult.

Wen Jie pulled him into an embrace.
“I’m fine.”

What did Ai Mijia tell Gu Tianmu? Whose name was that important to Gu Tianmu?

Was it him?

Wen Jie patted Ye Xicheng gently, her mind wandering far away.
Gu Juexi and Ye Yuwei’s relationship was finally becoming better, she really did not wish for any problems to resurface again.

Ye Xicheng was still worried, thinking that his grandmother was feeling unwell.
When Grandma is resting, I will tell Mommy, he thought to himself.

The news was over but Wen Jie was still zoning out.

Ye Xicheng frowned.
First, he had to take care of his grandmother’s emotions, then he had to look after his little sister to prevent her from falling.
For such a young boy to worry so much— he feared his heart might give out soon.
