Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an increasingly common disorder in both children and adults. NAFLD is a major public health concern due to its potential progression to severe liver diseases, such as hepatocellular carcinoma, and its tight association with other common metabolic diseases. This session will provide foundational knowledge about the prevalence, diagnosis and treatment of NAFLD, with a special emphasis on the latest advances in medical nutrition therapy for NAFLD and the interactions between diet and the gut microbiome in modulating NAFLD pathogenesis.Planned with The Academy Committee for Professional Development
