The on-going struggle to secure sufficient internship spots for all nutrition graduates has triggered a crisis in our profession. A major hindrance for obtaining supervised fieldwork for those graduates is the shortage of clinical placements. This session reports on over one-hundred in-depth interviews conducted with preceptors and non-preceptors. The session compares the mindset of preceptors and non-preceptors and explores new possibilities for engaging dietitians in the mentoring of interns.
