Child Health Issues
This session highlights nutrition education and physical activity promotion resources and training available to early care and education (ECE) providers that promote healthy weight and chronic disease prevention, particularly in limited resource families. USDA will present data from needs assessment research conducted with Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) operators along with the resources and materials developed as a result of the research. Penn State Extension's Better Kid Care (BKC) program will share results from the evaluation of online training resources for child care providers that address childhood obesity prevention and food insecurity.
Identify five key findings from the USDA formative research conducted with Child and Adult Care Food Program audiences and describe how the findings impacted resource development.
Describe the most significant impacts from the evaluation data from the six Let's Move! Child Care (LMCC) online learning modules offered through the Penn State Better Kid Care Program.
List four online sources of training and resources for ECE providers.
