Expert speakers will discuss emerging research on behavioral approaches for healthy lifestyle changes that attendees will then be able to incorporate in their own research and practices. Behavioral changes in the dietetics practice is a relatively new area, and the dietitian's role in behavioral changes is a topic rarely presented at FNCE. This session will be of particular interest as it will highlight evidenced-based strategies to improve individual health outcomes in adults.Planned with the Research DPG

Explain the theoretical approaches that behavioral health professionals employ to move patients to improved health outcomes.

Describe clinical studies where the counseling skills of the dietitian were critical to outcomes.

Discuss ways in which dietitians can incorporate and apply skills and concepts with a focus on improving lifestyle behaviors.
