This session will review common clinical blood markers that are included in standard blood panels. Additional blood makers will be discussed that can be used to enhance the health and performance of elite athletes. Attendees will learn how to interpret these results, and what dietary and supplemental recommendations can be implemented for peak performance and recovery. Planned with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Committee for Professional Development, in collaboration with the Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition DPG.

Recommend various blood markers for testing depending on the classification of athlete, common issues and potential risks presented by the athlete.

Identify blood markers that could potentially affect performance, health and wellness of elite athletes.

Provide dietary and supplement recommendations (MNT) in response to training effects and athlete specific results and reference ranges.
