Food allergy is a global health concern. Increasing prevalence of all allergic disease and as much as a threefold increase in the prevalence of peanut allergy in the USA has occurred over the past 10-15 years. Recent research aimed at food allergy prevention in general and a specific focus on peanut allergy prevention will be shared. The release of a consensus statement on early peanut introduction and the prevention of peanut allergy in high risk infants will be discussed.
